Vice President Jusuf Kalla, accompanied by eight cabinet ministers and Investment Coordination Board (BPPKM) head Mohammad Lutfi, made a working visit to Batam on Thursday.
During his visit, Kalla officially opened a national meeting on spatial planning, an official said here on Thursday.
The eight cabinet ministers were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Boediono, acting Home Minister Widodo AS, Industry Minister Fahmi Idris, Trade Minister Marie E Pangestu, Forestry Minister MS Ka`ban, Environment Minister Rachmat Wioelar, Marine and Fisheries Minister Freddy Numberi and National Development Planning Minister Paskah Suzetta.
Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso and Banten Governor Atut Choisiyah were also in the vice president`s entourage.
During his stay in Batam, the Vice President was also scheduled to visit Batu Ampas Harbor, Citra Mas Group industrial zone and several companies such as PT Pipa Mas Putih, PT PAN United Shipyard Indonesia, and PT Graha Trisaka Industri (Labroy Group). (*)
