The 20-year-old, who had been linked to Real Madrid and Manchester United, signed for five seasons from Guadalajara-based Atlas in a deal worth 5.2 million euros (7.2 million US dollars).
Some 4,000 fans sat in the stands of Riazor stadium as Guardado, known for his explosive speed and dribbling skills, posed for pictures wearing the club`s blue and white jersey for the first time, the club said on its Internet site.
"I am very grateful for the welcome which I have received from the fans," he said.
"I hope to live up to expectations. I am young and I have come to give my best. I hope that both me and the team will grow together," he added.
Deportivo Coruna finished 13th in the Primera Liga in the season just ended, their lowest placing since returning to the top flight in 1991, AFP reported.(*)
